Children’s Programs

Our Age Specific Programs

pic-char4An international study was done to understand the growth and development stages of children between the ages of 3 to 12. Children were evaluated on the physical, intellectual, social, and emotional stages. From those results, a comprehensive format for martial arts education was created for 3 & 4-yrs olds, 5 & 6-yrs olds, 7 & 8-yrs olds, and 9 & 14-yrs olds.

What does this mean for your child?

pic-kidsd2Our classes are going to target your child’s skills and abilities even more than before! This means that our classes will target the student’s stages of development to the point where each class will not be too challenging nor too easy- Each class should be just right! Our goal is that each student will leave class feeling stronger and more confident! Classes are enjoyable, but there is more to it. Children, especially today, need to learn that hard work and dedication is a reward in itself, even if it is not always entertaining. Our classes are both challenging and rewarding.

What kind of Martial Art do You teach children?

pic-chil2We teach children a blend of martial arts, comprised primarily of the renowned kicking and punching techniques of TaeKwon-Do and the proven ground self defense techniques of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ). Emphasis is placed on training in BJJ. The goal of this program is to develop well rounded martial artists, both mentally and physically, equally emphasizing character development.
We believe that “strength is important; Technique is essential; but character is paramount.

Why do we emphasize Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for kids?

pic-kidsd1BECAUSE STATISTICS SHOW THAT 95% OF ALL ATTACKS END UP ON THE GROUND, IT WOULD ONLY MAKE SENSE TO PUT MORE EMPHASIS ON THIS ART. The effectiveness of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu makes it appealing to children who would like to be able to deal with bullying problems and handle a much larger and stronger opponent using leverage and technique. Because of the principles of this art, students find themselves able to completely dominate an opponent, without causing any serious harm or having to throw a punch or kick.
