Does your teen need
They make hasty, poorly-considered decisions and need to have better judgment.
They’re being bullied at school – or they’re the one doing the bullying. They don’t get enough exercise or need to lose weight.
They have low self-esteem and seem to be down all the time. They give up when things get difficult and fail to meet their goals.
Raising a teenager requires persistence & patience
It can test your sanity even at the best of times. Yet, you want the best for your teenager. You want them to have the tools they need to succeed now and later in life – and you’d like that to happen without having to pull out all your hair in the process. Getting them to do anything you want them to do can feel utterly impossible, and you’re not sure where to start.
Studying martial arts helps kids learn how to overcome their problems and learn important lessons – the kind of lessons that will follow them to your home, to the classroom, and for the rest of their lives.
your teen will grow with every class!
Teenagers who study martial arts learn the benefits of self-control and discipline with every lesson. Our classes emphasize core values like discipline, respect, and persistence. Students learn that the way they treat others – in and out of the dojo – reflects on them as people and affects their ability to achieve their goals.
Highly recommend LMAA. My son started as an early teen with no martial arts experience. His class was mostly teens and adults with 3+yrs of experience with several at black belt level. He was a little intimidated, but they immediately welcomed in and he was into the mix very quickly. He’s been there several years now and still loves it. The instructors are terrific with all age levels including adults, and with boys and girls alike. They teach techniques from different styles with a focus on self-defense and high character. They don’t participate in a lot of MA competitions, but if that’s important to you I’d recommend talking with them about it. I’m sure they’d work with you on it. If you’re looking to be a UFC fighter, then this isn’t your place.
My son has been attending Livermore Martial Arts Academy (LMAA) for 6 years, and earned his 1st degree Black Belt. Aside from learning self-defense skills, the school reinforces positive values and morals. LMAA staff are not only great teachers, but caring people as well. I highly recommend this school!
Our son has attended LMAA since he was 8 years old and is on his way to achieving his second degree black belt. I can't say enough about this martial arts studio and its staff. The staff is amazing and treats the kids and the families as if they are family. Our son has developed an unexpected love for martial arts and continues gaining confidence every day. He loves working with his instructors, classmates and going to martial arts each week. This is a great place for small children up to the adult level. We are so pleased we found the Livermore Martial Arts Academy family.
We were pointed to LMAA after the first martial arts school we attended could no longer meet the needs of our boys. Ma'am and Sir (the affectionate name the students have for the owners) have been wonderful for our children. There they not only learn martial arts, but also confidence, manners, anti-bullying techniques, and many, many other skills necessary to being productive members of our community. We look forward to many more years here and give our highest recommendation!!!
