Livermore Martial Arts is great. The owners are passionate about teaching more than martial arts but also in the process they emphasize self respect, respect for others, and having a "can do" attitude. Good people here.

This is by far the best martial arts place for both kids and adults in the entire area! It's ran by amazing people and I would confidently recommend it to anyone interested💯

My daughter has been attending for about a year & a half now. Her self esteem has grown with the skills & sense of community she has received at LMAA. She is due to receive her purple belt, an achievement we are so proud to experience with her. We didn't think she'd be able to follow through this far.
Mr. & Mrs. Bonifacio are wonderful people who have created a safe & fun learning environment for kids & adults alike. This has definitely been worth our time & money bringing our daughter to Livermore Martial Arts Academy.

We were pointed to LMAA after the first martial arts school we attended could no longer meet the needs of our boys. Ma'am and Sir (the affectionate name the students have for the owners) have been wonderful for our children. There they not only learn martial arts, but also confidence, manners, anti-bullying techniques, and many, many other skills necessary to being productive members of our community. We look forward to many more years here and give our highest recommendation!!!

Our son has been attending LMAA since he was three years old. Typically our children never had an activity that young. However, our son had a lot of energy and needed discipline and structure to supplement our efforts at home. In the past 8 years, we've seen him learn the principles of black belt, and take pride in his schoolwork. Mr. & Mrs. B have been great members of our parenting village giving support, guidance and love to our whole family.

Highly recommend LMAA. My son started as an early teen with no martial arts experience. His class was mostly teens and adults with 3+yrs of experience with several at black belt level. He was a little intimidated, but they immediately welcomed in and he was into the mix very quickly. He’s been there several years now and still loves it. The instructors are terrific with all age levels including adults, and with boys and girls alike. They teach techniques from different styles with a focus on self-defense and high character. They don’t participate in a lot of MA competitions, but if that’s important to you I’d recommend talking with them about it. I’m sure they’d work with you on it. If you’re looking to be a UFC fighter, then this isn’t your place.

My son has been attending Livermore Martial Arts Academy (LMAA) for 6 years, and earned his 1st degree Black Belt. Aside from learning self-defense skills, the school reinforces positive values and morals. LMAA staff are not only great teachers, but caring people as well. I highly recommend this school!

Our son has attended LMAA since he was 8 years old and is on his way to achieving his second degree black belt. I can't say enough about this martial arts studio and its staff. The staff is amazing and treats the kids and the families as if they are family. Our son has developed an unexpected love for martial arts and continues gaining confidence every day. He loves working with his instructors, classmates and going to martial arts each week. This is a great place for small children up to the adult level. We are so pleased we found the Livermore Martial Arts Academy family.

My son and daughter (twins) attended basic skills classes at LMAA, and loved it! They learned balance, body control, focus as well as techniques in self-defense/anti-bullying/self-confidence - all in an encouraging, fun, and respectful environment. Kyoshi and Mrs. B focus on including families in the process. From goal-setting, to merit based acknowledgement, parents/grandparents/friends are encouraged to participate in the process. I highly recommend LMAA!

We have been going to Livermore Martial Arts Academy for 7+ years, since our son was 5 years old. He is now 13 with his 1st degree black belt and working towards his next degree. Belts aside, this academy is a great place to have you or your child learn martial arts. The environment is very friendly and family oriented. Besides the good instruction that is provided, we have liked the way daily life issues are incorporated into their training, such as teaching kids how to handle bullies and bullying. In addition, the academy intertwines family into their instruction as they put an emphasis on family and the strength of the family unit. These traits, combined with the leadership of Mr and Mrs B., have made for a great experience for our son and his family.

Our daughter has been with LMAA for almost 2 years. She walked in a timid child and has turned into a strong, confident tween. In addition to martial arts they teach critical self defense skills and character building. Our community is very lucky to have LMAA!

Are you dealing with

Any of these troubles?

It can be difficult to fill up your kids’ days when they’re at home.

Kids need exercise and a healthy way to burn off their excess energy.

Kids’ mental health can be impacted by stressful situations.

Keeping your kids healthy and happy is a priority every day.

Try something new that your children will love!

When you’re at home and can’t get out – for whatever reason – it can be especially difficult to find ways to keep them active, occupied, and out of trouble. Exercise can help kids in a variety of ways, and when they’re not at school, they still need structure and guidance.

The activities you choose for them should help them both physically and emotionally. The right exercise class can offer all the benefits you want – and give you a break at the same time.

Results and growth with every class!

Virtual martial arts training provides an intense, guided workout that your kids can do from the comfort of your home. They won’t need any special equipment beyond what they’d bring to an in-person class, and you can be sure that they’re reaping the benefits of exercise with the instruction they need – even if you can’t get them to a class.

Physical Activity Improves Kids’ Health

Exercise is an essential element of good health. Kids need physical activity every day – even when they’re not in school or need to stay inside the house.

Virtual martial arts training provides the kind of intense activity that kids need to feel good about themselves. They can stay fit and toned without needing to go to a gym.

Making fitness a priority improves overall health, reducing your child’s chance of suffering from common health problems such as obesity and diabetes.

Structure Helps to Promote Normalcy

Kids don’t have the ability to structure their own lives. They need adults to do it for them – and even the most involved parent needs a break sometimes.

When your kids are at home, it makes sense to find activities they can do while you’re doing other things. Knowing they have a scheduled activity helps kids make sense of their days.

Virtual martial arts training is a scheduled activity that provides kids with the structure and instruction they need. It can be a great supplement to home schooling – or any situation where you can’t get out of the house.

Physical Activity Promotes Good Mental Health

In stressful times, it’s important to find ways to manage anxiety – and that’s true for kids as well as for adults.

There’s plenty of evidence that regular exercise is an essential component of good mental health. Kids who exercise are less likely to experience intense stress – and they’ll be better equipped to stay on an even keel emotionally.

Virtual martial arts classes focus on the mind-body connection, something that can help kids feel grounded mentally and emotionally.

Teach Your Kids the Importance of Discipline

All kids need goals. Without them, they may struggle in school and at home. Behavioral problems caused by a lack of discipline can make kids feel frustrated.

Any type of structured exercise requires discipline. Attending a class – even a virtual one – involves making a time commitment and sticking to it.

Virtual martial arts for kids offers many of the same disciplinary benefits as in-person classes. Kids learn, get tested, and improve with guidance from our experienced instructors.

FAQs

Can kids learn all the same things in a virtual class they do in an in-person class?

Virtual martial arts classes offer most of the same training that kids get in person, but there are some elements that change out of necessity. For example, students can’t spar with one another in a virtual class.

Do my kids need any special equipment to take virtual martial arts classes?

They’ll need comfortable, loose clothing. If they already have a uniform from a regular class, they can wear that, but shorts and a tee-shirt will work just as well. It may be helpful to put a mat down to offer a bit of protection.

Are virtual martial arts classes safe?

Yes, although it’s a good idea to have somebody supervising your kids while they take the class. Our instructors are experienced and skilled, and our virtual curriculum is designed to be easy to follow and to emphasize safety.

Will a virtual martial arts class give my child a good workout?

Yes, they’ll work hard during class. We’ll also encourage kids to practice between classes to improve their skills. Even on days when they don’t have a class, they can hit the mat.

Can my child still earn new stripes and belts in a virtual martial arts class?

Yes, we still allow for testing. It’s important for kids to feel that they’re making progress and they can do that at home with help from our instructors.
